A Birkin-inspired tic tac toe. A Louis Vuitton-patterned elephant. Artist Travis Hedemann uses luxury satire in his pop-art pieces. Fitting with his laid-back vibe, Hedemann and his wife, Meredith, organized a pop-up sidewalk show at Brasserie 19 with 10 percent of sales benefiting The Women’s Home. Creative types such asJill Faucetta and Tiffany Halik cooled off with proseco while admiring the displayed works.
This native Houstonian caught the attention of Hollywood royalty like Courteney Cox, Reese Witherspoon, Adam Sandler and Samuel L. Jackson and he now counts these celebs as bonafide clients. Of course, restauranteur Tony Vallone recognized Travis’ talent early on; the two have been collaborating on new installations for Tony’s on Richmond Avenue. Stay tuned for a fall unveiling.
